The National League of Cities Service Line Warranty Program by HomeServe educates homeowners about their service line responsibilities and provides protection against unexpected and costly service line issues.
By partnering with local contractors, the program also support the local economy and generates funds that can be reinvested into community
programs. Through our partnership with Bucks County, Pennsylvania, David G. received a major sewer line repair that was covered in full.
Bucks County customer David G. was experiencing a recurring, frustrating issue in his home. Multiple toilets were repeatedly backing up throughout his house, even though his family took care in not flushing anything that they weren’t supposed to.
The fix, he thought, was easy; David had neighbors that came and snaked the sewer line for him as needed, alleviating the backups for the time being. At first, the issue was sporadic but then became more persistent. David decided it was time to see what was really causing the chronic problem and called HomeServe. He had enrolled in a sewer line repair plan as soon as he heard it became available in his area via a notice
from his utility just months before the issue started.
“In the past, I have worked with other home repair plan companies and had a very poor experience, so I was wary at first,” David told us. “It was always such a hassle to file a claim that I ended up paying out of pocket to avoid the trouble all together. Thankfully, my experience with HomeServe couldn’t have been more different.”
Professional, Reliable Contractor Dispatched
F.K.R. Plumbing and Heating, a local, reliable member of HomeServe’s contractor network, paid David a visit to diagnose the problem. After running a camera down through the line, they were able to determine that the backups were thanks to a dip in the 40-year-old piping that was caused by shifts in the foundation over time.
“I am somebody who appreciates open communication, and HomeServe knocked that out of the park. They kept me informed at every step in the process without me having to reach out on my end first.”
“F.K.R. Plumbing went the extra mile in this job,” said David. “Beyond leaving my property the way that they found it, they even took the time to replace the stones they had to rip up as part of the repair.”
David Saves Over $7,000 on Repair
When all was said and done, about six feet of the sewer line was replaced, saving David and his family a total of just over $7,700. But for him, the large bill his HomeServe plan saved was just the cherry on top of a great customer experience.
“I am somebody who appreciates open communication, and HomeServe knocked that out of the park. They kept me informed at every step in the process without me having to reach out on my end first,” said David. “HomeServe took 100% of the stress out of this situation for me; the service was phenomenal. I will be a customer for life.”
