In partnership with Xcel Energy, HomeServe offers a range of residential protection plans to homeowners. Tracy, a homeowner in Roseville, Minnesota, made an unsettling discovery in recent months: her home’s water heater, which had been there when she purchased the home, was leaking and showing signs of rust.
“The leaking and rusting caught my attention, but I had also noticed that the water temperature in my home wasn’t quite as hot as it should have been,” said Tracy.
Tracy had her home’s water heater enrolled in a repair plan that would help cover its potential repair or replacement. After a quick call to HomeServe’s operations center, a local and reliable contractor, K B Service Company, was dispatched to her home.
“The plumbers from K B showed up when they said they would and were extremely professional,” said Tracy. “It wasn’t long before they figured out what was wrong.”
The water heater’s leak was causing the rusting, and multiple valves on the unit also needed to be replaced. The plumber determined that, due to the age and overall condition of the unit, Tracy would need to have the water heater replaced. Luckily, her repair plan would cover the cost of the diagnostics and part of the replacement.
“Ever since the replacement was completed, the water in my home has been hotter than ever,” said Tracy. “What more can you ask for?”
She first learned about repair plans from HomeServe through Xcel Energy shortly after buying the home. The water heater repair and replacement assistance plan wasn’t the only one that sparked her interest.
“We also had our furnace repaired by you and had a wonderful experience as well,” said Tracy. “I’ve yet to have anything but positive things to say about the service.”
