Christopher Gagnon of Spencer, Indiana, a BBP Water Corporation employee; and Chase Perry of Montpelier, Indiana, a City of Montpelier apprentice, both received a scholarship to attend the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water’s nationally recognized two-year training program to develop skilled workers for the water and wastewater industry.

Gagnon previously worked at the Department of Natural Resources in guest services and as a closing manager at the nearby State Park Inns in McCormick’s Creek State Park, where he participated in creating budgets, managing front desk and housekeeping department labor and IT trouble-shooting.

I was referred to the BBP Water Corp position through a friend and saw it as an opportunity to further develop my professional skills, Gagnon said.

Perry had worked for Montpelier part-time for several years before becoming a full-time employee and being given assistant superintendent duties.

During that time, I always loved working hand-and-hand with the water department, Perry said. After a year of being the assistant, the current superintendent retired, so I saw an opportunity to advance for not only myself but also my family and jumped on it. I’m now happier than I’ve ever been and refuse to look back.
