Canonsburg, PA – Utility Service Partners, Inc. (USP) is proud to announce that Jim Hunt will be joining USP as an Advisor. Jim Hunt brings extensive experience in local government as both an elected official and consultant working with cities to maximize their potential. Hunt’s role will be to raise the level of awareness regarding the benefits of public/private partnerships through regional meetings and workshops with leaders across the nation. Hunt will also serve as a liaison to the National League of Cities (NLC) to identify new opportunities for USP to provide needed solutions to cities.
For the past 22 years, Hunt has provided leadership development workshops for government officials worldwide, focused around building community potential, leadership and inclusiveness. He has served as President of the National League of Cities, President of the West Virginia Municipal League, board member of numerous organizations ranging from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Habitat for Humanity and Kiwanis Club. In 2006, he was selected as Municipal Leader of the Year by the American City and County Magazine. He is the recipient of over 30 international honors and awards, as well as a former mayor and council member of 27 years in the City of Clarksburg, WV.
Hunt is best known for creating the Inclusive Communities Partnership, a national effort to create an inclusive approach to government which was prominently featured in USA Today and includes 161 cities currently participating and representing more than 15 million citizens.
Hunt holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from West Virginia University and completed Graduate work in Administration and Special Education from West Virginia University. He was the recipient of a RUPRI Fellowship to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.
