$1,000 Away from Ruin?

According to the personal financing site Bankrate.com, a 2016 survey found that 64% of US residents don’t have at least $1000 set aside in case of emergency. More than half (53%) reported they would have to reduce their spending in another area, use credit cards, or borrow money from friends and family to cover the expense of an unexpected setback.
