The City of South Sioux City has been receiving a number of calls from residents regarding multiple offers for utility line warranties appearing in their mail boxes. As many may
recall, the City recently announced that it was introducing a program offered through a partnership between the National League of Cities and Service Line Warranties of America
because “Many citizens are unaware that they are responsible for the water lines that go from the utility connection to their houses. If these lines break or leak, repairs can be very expensive,” according to William McLarty, Mayor.
“This program was introduced as an optional protection for the citizens of South Sioux City and while I would never dream of telling residents that there is only one solution to this issue many of us face, I would encourage every homeowner to carefully consider all offers received and to perform diligent research on the company presenting the offer.
Service Line Warranties of America was thoroughly vetted by the National League of Cities, has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and was carefully considered by the City Council before being approved for introduction to our residents” concluded Mayor McLarty.
