WOODSTOCK – The city of Woodstock is introducing to homeowners a low-cost warranty protection for privately owned sewer lines through the National League of Cities Service Line Warranty Program. It is administered by Service Line Warranties of America.
Many residents are unaware they are responsible for the sewer service line that runs from their residence to the city’s sewer main, according to a city news release.
Repairs can be very expensive when these lines break or leak. The service program will offer warranty protection to help cover the costs of repairs or replacement of sewer service lines.
Woodstock residents will see offers in their mailboxes soon, according to the release. The cost to residents who choose to buy the protection is $5.50 a month and will cover sewer line repairs up to $4,000, plus $4,000 for public street cutting, if needed. The program is offered at no cost to the city, and no public funds are used to promote the program. For information, call 815-338-6118.
