Water customers may receive notice of water line warranty offer
Posted Date: 5/1/2012

Englewood residents may soon receive a letter from Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) regarding a water line warranty offer. The City of Englewood is aware of this program and City Council has authorized use of the City’s logo on the company’s marketing materials.

The program, which is endorsed by the National League of Cities, provides water and sewer line warranties. Many homeowners do not realize that they are responsible for the water lines that go from the main utility connection to their homes. The City Council authorized SLWA to market the program in Englewood in the hope that the warranty program would offer an affordable way to help residents offset the costs of repairs in the event of water or sewer line breaks.

The company’s practice is to send two letters approximately two weeks apart. Englewood water customers who receive these letters should be aware that Englewood’s Utilities Department is not involved in this program and any contract undertaken is strictly between the homeowner and SLWA.

For questions regarding the program and to learn more about SLWA, please visit SLWA’s website at www.slwofa.com or call SLWA’s toll-free number, 1-866-922-9006.
