Las Vegas, Nev. – September 27, 2023 – Homeownership is part of the American dream, but an unexpected, expensive home repair can quickly turn it into a nightmare. Since 2016, the City of Las Vegas has worked with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) to offer homeowners an optional way to prepare financially for common home repair emergencies, like blocked or broken exterior sewer lines, leaking interior water pipes, or malfunctioning water heaters.

Since the partnership launched, Las Vegas homeowners participating in the program have saved more than $2 million in repairs to these systems. These are repairs for which a homeowner without a plan would have had to pay for out-of-pocket. More than 12,000 City homeowners have enrolled in the SLWA program and nearly 2,400 have had repairs completed. Resident response has been positive, with post repair satisfaction ratings of 4.7 out of 5 stars. Two Las Vegas residents that recently had sewer line repairs also commented:

“Company came same day and resolved our plumbing issue the next day. Super happy right now…” Cheryl H. saved $2,500 and has been a program participant since 2018. “[SLWA] has always provided excellent service for my sewer line and plumbing issues, and this most recent time is no exception. The response was quick, and the problem was taken care of. I recommend this company to all my friends.” Lisa P. saved $1,014 and has been program participant since 2019.

“With more than 12,000 Las Vegas homeowners enrolled in the SLWA program, we know it has been a resounding success, taking a lot of the hassle and financial stress out of a common home repair,” said Tom Rusin, CEO, HomeServe North America, SLWA’s parent company. “When these types of emergencies happen, homeowners not only are concerned about the cost of the repair but also about finding a trustworthy contractor and possibly being taken advantage of during the process. Through the program with Las Vegas, almost 2,400 repairs have been expertly completed by our network of vetted and experienced local professionals.”

Las Vegas residents who are interested in learning more or enrolling in any of the available plans, can visit www.slwofa.com or call 866-922-9006 for more information.

As part of the partnership, the city of Las Vegas has allocated additional funds through the HomeServe Cares program, which assists eligible homeowners with repairs when they are faced with a service emergency. HomeServe will arrange for emergency repairs at no cost to the homeowner through HomeServe’s network of local, licensed and qualified contractors. To be eligible, a homeowner needs to meet certain criteria. For more information, click here.
