BECKLEY – The city of Beckley, through the National League of Cities, is now offering a “service line warranty program” for homeowners who want to avoid the sometimes high
cost of repairing damaged or leaking gas lines on their property.
According to a press release from Beckley Mayor Emmett Pugh’s office, residents will soon receive offers for the program through the mail. Administered by Service Line Warranties of America, the program covers gas line repairs up to $4,000.
“Many citizens are unaware that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their buried, outside gas lines,” said Mayor Pugh. If these lines break or leak, repairs can be very expensive.”
Citizens who wish to enroll in the program should adjust their budgets for a monthly $4.25 fee. The program uses local, certified technicians and includes a 24-hour repair hotline.
The city of Beckley does not pay for the service, and no public funds are used to promote the program.
