Mississippi Partnerships
Rich in a history of art, architecture, and agriculture, the state of Mississippi is named after the Ojibwe phrase for “Father of Waters.” A large portion of the state is still considered rural, but the number of cities is growing. It does share one thing with every other state… aging infrastructure that can lead to unforeseen damages to service lines for residents. That’s why so many communities throughout Mississippi have turned to HomeServe programs to help their residents in their times of need.
Most homeowners don’t realize they are responsible for the water and sewer lines from the street to their meter, and are shocked to find they must pay to repair damage caused by age, tree roots, and other issues. Planning ahead and having a warranty program in place to cover these costs can make all the difference when an unexpected emergency occurs.
In fact, in Mississippi we have:
- 14 Municipal and Water Utility Partners;
- A Partnership with the Mississippi Rural Water Association;
- Over 62,000 Active Water-Related Protection Plans;
- Saved homeowners in your state over $6.6 million in water-related costs since 2017.
Nationally, we have saved customers over $1.1 billion over the past three years.

Theresa Alexander had an unpleasant problem — a leaking sewer line. After having had the line repaired only a few years before, she didn’t know where she’d find the funding to make the repair until the service line warranty program stepped in. Watch the video to see what happened!

Theresa Alexander had a problem that was not going away: sewage was spilling from an open pipe into her yard.
Theresa had lived in her tight-knit Jackson, Mississippi, neighborhood for nearly two decades, where she enjoyed good relationships with her neighbors, including the church next door. Two years ago, she noticed water pooling in her yard and learned that she had a sewer line break. A plumber told her that not only was there a line break, but there was additional damage where the line entered into the main sewer line.
