Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) is a corporate partner of the Local Authority Services (LAS). LAS is a preferred provider of competitively priced and sustainable co-operative business services for Ontario municipalities and utilities, helping its customers “save money, make money, and solve capacity.” LAS was created in 1992 by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
As of 2021, SLWC partners with 70 municipalities and utilities in Ontario alone, providing water and sewer line repair coverage, in-home plumbing repair, and more to Canadian homeowners.

What is Covered?
Service Line Warranties covers the portion of the outside water and waste lines that are the responsibility of the homeowner, as well as in-home plumbing issues, including broken, leaking or clogged water and sewer lines inside the home.

Our Plans
Our affordably priced plans address service line repairs that are not covered under traditional homeowner’s insurance policies. Through partnerships with municipalities and utilities, SLWC educates homeowners on their service line responsibilities and offers optional coverage plans that protect them in the event of a service line failure.

Benefits to Homeowners
Customers with a home repair emergency call toll-free 24/7/365, including weekends and holidays, to reach customer service. We connect them with a local, licensed and insured contractor within our contractor network to make the repairs, which are usually completed within 24 hours.
“The City highly recommends this service to other municipalities because it offers residents a low-cost solution to the problem of dealing with broken, leaking, clogged or even frozen water and sewer lines. We have received many compliments from residents for having made this service available to them. Even those who choose not to enrol in this optional program are better educated about their service line responsibilities, which is very important to the City.”
– John Savoia, Former Financial Planning and Policy, City of Hamilton
“Council was very pleased to support the programs offered through Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) for the residents of Manitouwadge. I am aware that many households are now signed up for this low cost and essential warranty service. I am so happy to hear that a local resident was able to have their water service line repaired, at no cost, through their CARES foundation program. SLWC is a great corporate citizen and they provide a much-needed service to our residents.”
– Jim Moffat, Mayor, Township of Manitouwadge
