Moore, Oklahoma, Presented With Utility Service Partners, Inc.’s 2014 Leadership Award

by | Dec 15, 2014

On December 1, 2014, Utility Service Partners, Inc. (USP) presented the City of Moore, Oklahoma, with the 2014 Leadership Award in recognition of their leadership, persistence and perseverance efforts to clean up and rebuild their community after an EF 5 tornado struck Moore on May 20, 2013.

“The City of Moore showed an outstanding commitment to their community to rebuild after such a devastating loss,” said Brad Carmichael, Vice President of Business Development. “The heart of the city is strong and it shows in their quick rebound as a community.”

It only took 61 days to clean up the community, which is pretty impressive considering the magnitude of debris and devastation. Thousands of volunteers from around the nation leapt into action to help rebuild the community, including two volunteers from USP—General Manager Brian Davis and Business Development Manager Blake Stogner. Armed with non-perishable food, toys and emergency flashlights to donate, Davis and Stogner couldn’t imagine the aftermath of destruction left in Moore.

“It bothered both of us that people less than three hours away were hurting,” said Davis. “That’s a community and a program partner. Our motto is to build peace of mind, one community at a time. We just tried to do our part to give this community a little peace of mind in the face of adversity.”

USP is proud to present the 2014 Leadership Award to the City of Moore, which has been an outstanding partner in USP’s Service Line Warranty Program since 2013, saving community residents time and money on water and sewer line repairs.
