National League of Cities – Service Line Warranty Program
October 5, 2012 | Filed under: City | Posted by: admin
Duncanville homeowners will soon receive a letter in the mail from the National League of Cities and privately-owned company Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), containing the City’s logo, offering an optional low cost, worry-free warranty protection program for water and sewer service lines. A service not covered by the City.
The Service Line Warranty program offers citizens an affordable way to avoid unexpected and often large expense involved with a water or sewer line break. When a line breaks, the cost to repair it can often cause hardship on a family’s budget. The City opted not to receive any monetary compensation from SLWA, and preferably chose to pass the savings directly to their residents with a lower priced service offer. The program is offered at no cost to the City and no public funds are used to promote the program. Importantly, the program is fully administered and serviced by SWLA only.
The SWLA was selected by the National League of Cities, the nation’s oldest and largest organization devoted to strengthening and promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance.
